About Sefi Atta
Sefi Atta was born in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1964. She is the author of Everything Good Will Come, Swallow, News from Home, A Bit of Difference and Sefi Atta: Selected Plays. Atta has received several literary awards, including the 2006 Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa and the 2009 Noma Award for Publishing in Africa. Her radio plays have been broadcast by the BBC and her stage plays have been performed internationally. She divides her time between the United States, England and Nigeria.

Sefi Atta’s Publishing Journey
Sefi Atta began her writing and publishing career in the early 2000s. While she had likely been writing before this period, her first significant publication was her debut novel, “Everything Good Will Come,” which was published in 2005. This novel marked her entry into the world of published fiction and received critical acclaim. The novel’s success established Sefi Atta as a notable Nigerian author. Following her debut novel, Sefi Atta continued to write and publish both novels and short stories, gaining further acclaim for her literary contributions. Her works often focus on the experiences of women in Nigeria and address a wide range of social and cultural issues. Most of novels are published by Interlink Books publishers in the United States of America, and in Nigeria by Farafina Books.
